Early Reports From WWE In Chile - Major Issues, & More

Posted by Ryan Clark on Jul 4, 2008

Early media reports from Santiago, Chile have provided some brief results regarding Wednesday night’s Raw house show event.

Triple H, Jeff Hardy and Randy Orton were all advertised and were not there. Orton has been hurt for a month so anyone expecting him to be there had some wishful thinking. Some of the local media said the crowd felt ripped off when some of the bigger stars advertised were not there.

Batista and Rey Mysterio, who were not originally advertised, both worked the show. Shawn Michaels also worked the show despite working an injury angle right now. Carlito is also on the tour despite being switched over to the Smackdown brand. He was a big part of the local publicity for the tour so they had to use him.

We do know that Shawn Michaels defeated Chris Jericho (said to have gotten a good reaction from the crowd) and CM Punk defeated Kane to retain the World Heavyweight Title. The main event saw John Cena defeated JBL.

Interesting to see them putting Kane against Punk, as both are currently faces.

I think Ryan was saying the other day that Kane is also scheduled to throw down with some others faces. Should be interesting if they turn him heel.

Yeah, I’d like to see Kane heel. I think he makes a better heel and it would freshen up his character a little bit if done correctly (meaning he actually does stuff similar to what he used to, and not just cheap heel stuff).
