Report: Carlito Once Again Unhappy In WWE - Details
Posted by Ryan Clark on Aug 13, 2008
Carlito’s long-term future with WWE appears to be in doubt again. While he’s worked a few live events, he still has yet to debut on television on SmackDown since the draft seven weeks ago.
Once again, he has talked with friends about a release from the company. In his homeland of Puerto Rico, he can do what he wants and be the top singles star in WWC. However, business isn’t too good at the moment and he’d be going from working in front of thousands of fans to a few hundred. The last time Carlito talked about departing from WWE, he had talks with the AAA promotion in Mexico about coming in as a full-timer, where he could be a top heel.
Regarding a possible jump to TNA, he has supporters there as he has worked with booker Dutch Mantel in the past not to mention that the company is looking to expand to the Hispanic audience. Should he depart from WWE, Carlito should also do well in the U.S. indies as well as the NWE promotion based out of Europe featuring a slew of “name” stars.

I wish WWE could find a way to use Carlito, but his gimmick seems to be played out. He is only good as a heel, but he pales in comparison to someone like Santino who is sort of the same style of heel, at least to me. To me, Carlito is kind of a “goof ball” heel but he is just not as funny as Santino nor does he have the same heat that Santino receives.

I find Carlito boring to watch. I don’t mind that he isn’t on TV, because I don’t think he’s that good of a wrestler when you look at the other stars on SmackDown. When he’s on TV, I just don’t feel any connection with the audience like HHH or Edge receive.

Carlito isnt a great worker, Ive said it for years. to think the internet smarks only a few years ago were saying he was the future of the business. and now no one cares.
His brother Eddie is a much better worker, but i guess Carlito has “the” look.

I don’t think so. To me, he has no appeal.

I think Carlito’s mistake is that his character isn’t new-look at Razor Ramon’s debut video and compare them to Carlito’s and you will find them exactly the same-and he didn’t do anything to improve it and make it not stale. He is not a hard worker and thats why the WWE don’t put their money on him.
