The new ECW referee is a former OVW referee who goes by the name of Goose Mahoney. He is currently refereeing for WWE’s Developmental Territory, Florida Championship Wrestling.

Former Ring of Honor Champion and current NOAH GHC Heavyweight Champion Takeshi Morishima had another WWE dark match at this past week’s WWE SmackDown/ECW tapings. Morishima was accompanied by Tony Atlas and defeated Jamie Noble before the ECW and SmackDown tapings begun. Thus far, we don’t have much to report on Takeshi Morishima’s WWE dark matches this week. WWE did have to get permission from NOAH to use him on the show. Harley Race set up the whole thing as his WLW promotion has a working agreement with NOAH.

The following matches have been taped for this week’s edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown:

- Natalya vs. Maria
- 10 Man Battle Royal
- Festus vs. MVP
- Finlay vs. Shelton Benjamin
- Jeff Hardy vs. The Great Khali
- Vickie, La Familia, The Undertaker, Triple H, Kenny Dykstra and others will also be appearing on the show.
