WWE Pulls Their UFC Cheap Shot, Victoria Comments On WWE Firings

SmackDown Diva Victoria now has an account on the WWE Universe site and she has posted her first blog. Victoria commented on last Monday’s firings of Elijah Burke, Kenny Dykstra and Lena Yada. Victoria was good friends with Yada as she often traveled with her on the road, and of course, she was paired with Kenny Dykstra in 2007 before he went down with a knee injury. Victoria wrote: “So Lena Yada, Kenny Dykstra and Elijah Burke were recently released. Kenny was my valet, I pimped out one of Elijah’s cars, and I traveled and am friends with Lena. The longer I’m in this business, the less of a surprise it is when a Superstar either is fired or quits. But I spend more time with these people than I do my family. It always makes me sad. Especially since we are spread out all over the country. So I go from seeing them several days a week, to maybe a couple times a year.”

Less than 24 hours after posting it, WWE has removed their congratulatory note on WWE.com regarding Brock Lesnar’s UFC Heavyweight Championship win, along with the following cheap shot at the company: “Critics have noted that many of the fights on the UFC pay-per-view ended in the first round, leaving UFC producers scrambling to fill the three-hour event with content. The dearth of hearty competition left many viewers to watch less prestigious under-card fights and only served to bolster claims that UFC pay-per-view events can often be a “crap shoot” in regards to filling the full three hours.” This definitely came off as a weak shot at UFC. UFC, like boxing before it, is a real athletic competition where some fights will end quickly, and others will go the distance.

The WWE The Music Volume 9 CD is scheduled to be released in stores on January 27th, 2008.

The new Kane DVD will hit stores on December 9th.
